Ready to expand your creativity, confidence, and impact as a yoga teacher? Incorporating the chair as a powerful and versatile prop opens the door to making yoga more accessible, inclusive, and transformative for a wider range of students.

In this dynamic and experiential training, you’ll learn how to skillfully design and sequence chair yoga classes for diverse populations, including seniors, individuals recovering from injury or illness, and corporate or workplace settings. You’ll explore somatic yoga principles, red light/green light practices, trauma reflexes, and foundational nervous system tools to help both you and your students regulate stress and cultivate resilience.

With over 20 years of passion and experience teaching chair yoga, Jenn brings wisdom, warmth, and practical insight that will inspire and empower you to confidently share the profound benefits of yoga with more people—without losing depth, creativity, or authenticity.

This training blends thoughtful lecture with plenty of embodied learning, practice teaching, and real-time applications. Our in-depth practicum offers a supportive environment where you’ll practice teaching, receive personalized feedback and coaching, and build the skills and confidence needed to lead chair yoga classes with clarity, compassion, and ease.

Whether you’re looking to enhance your current classes or broaden your reach as a teacher, this training will equip you with tools you can use immediately—and for years to come.

Taught by Marcia Miller, IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist, ERYT-500 Yoga Teacher

Studies show that over 80% of Americans will suffer significant back pain in their lives. And people with back pain say Yoga helps them more than any other single modality, including surgery and other medical care. This workshop will teach you

  • relevant anatomy of the spine and hips

  • principles and techniques of yoga therapy that help your students with back pain

  • a basic series of poses that are great for beginners with (or without) back pain

  • several bonus poses to offer anytime someone is in back pain

  • sitting, standing, and walking to support the health of your students and minimize back pain

  • several relaxation setups to help students be comfortable in savasana, since relaxation is so critical to back pain relief

This class will be a mixture of lecture, discussion, and practice (including supporting each other), and you will leave with practical knowledge you can utilize right away. This training assumes you are already at least a 200-hour trained yoga teacher.

Yin vs. Restorative - the Ultimate ZEN Faceoff

Can Yin be restorative? Is Restorative also Yin? What in the heck is Yang?

In this training we will dive into the differences and similarities of these two practices, learn about the connective tissue of the body and how these practices support a healthy nervous system. There will be learning and discussion and lots of practice time mixed in.

The class will conclude with a full 90 minute session showing Yin vs Restorative ideas for several popular poses.

This class is for teachers and students curious about learning more about these two styles of Yoga.

As a teacher, you will:

  • Gain skills to practice both forms of Yoga and learn helpful hints on prop usage and modifications

  • Be able to add poses into a Yang style class or teach a full class of one or both styles

  • Earn 5 Yoga Alliance CEU’s

  • Receive a detailed guidebook to support and continue your teaching journey
