Oh friends, in this course we will meditate with Rumi in a variety of ways. His inspired and ecstatic poetry will be nourishment for our contemplation in these 6 weeks together. Sometimes he soothes; at others he challenges but always invites us to directly experience the Source of All as he so longed to. Rumi’s words will delight us with his humanity and his sacred connections with All That Is. I’ll be choosing lines of poetry from translations by from Haleh Liza Gafori and Coleman Barks. We’ll begin each session with a short movement or breath practice to open our bodies.
Restless with longing
My mind and body weave web
after web
my own heart’s ensnared.
When they trust, they stop.
The path to you opens without a word.
Rumi, translated by Haleh Liza Gafori
